What you give us on prospectingpros.com

When you ask to be matched with a reseller, we collect your business ZIP code, company name, your name, your work email, what your business sells, your consent choices, and the campaign source of the link that brought you, if any. When an IT provider applies to become a reseller, we collect the same contact details and the services it offers.

We use an inquiry to find the nearest eligible reseller and to follow up on it. If you consent, we share your details with the reseller named on the form, which can then see your inquiry and approve your signup. If no reseller is available, Marketopia keeps your inquiry for matching and confirms the receiving reseller before sharing your contact details. We use a reseller application only to review and follow up on it.

Where our business data comes from

Public records and public business sources, such as building permits, state business registrations, securities filings, job postings, fleet registrations and company announcements, plus licensed business data we pay for. Every signal we deliver carries the record it came from and the date we saw it.

People who appear in our data

Information about identified individuals, typically owners and staff at businesses, is limited to business contact and role information they have published or that a licensed business-data provider supplies. We do not infer protected characteristics such as religion, health or sexual orientation.

Who receives information

Business contact and role information about people at the businesses in our data is delivered to our paying Prospecting Pros subscribers, who use it to evaluate and contact those businesses; the terms they accept limit use to lawful business-to-business purposes. Inquiry details go to the reseller described above. We also use service providers that process data for us (hosting, databases, email delivery, payments, AI processing and error monitoring), bound by contract to use it only to provide their service, and we disclose information where the law requires.

Because we provide business contact information to subscribers in exchange for fees, California and some other states may treat that as a sale of personal information. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Cookies and tracking

prospectingpros.com does not use advertising or analytics cookies or tags. The signed-in Prospecting Pros application and checkout use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure, error monitoring to find and fix faults, and Marketopia's web analytics and advertising measurement tags.

Data about our subscribers

For the people who use Prospecting Pros we collect account details (name, work email, company), the settings you choose, such as your industry and markets, billing records from our payment processor, and records of how the service is used, so we can operate, secure and bill it.

Retention and your rights

We keep account data while your subscription is active and as required afterwards for legal, tax and security purposes, and inquiries for as long as we need them to match and follow up. Public business contact information in our data is kept while it remains current and we have a business reason to hold it, and is removed on request. Depending on where you are, including under the CCPA/CPRA, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your personal data and to withdraw consent. Write to privacy@marketopia.com; we respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf.

Children

Prospecting Pros is a business service for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
